    What I’ve found is that the number one reason that people fail when building their businesses is fear and its fear is based on a lack of belief in the business model and in their own ability to execute and perform.

    And that fear is literally the biggest cause of procrastination,

    People play these scripts in their heads… they say to themselves, “I don’t want to talk to people about my business because I’m afraid of what they might think about me or how they might judge me.

    What if they don’t accept me?

    What if they put me down or they make fun of me or whatever.

    I can honestly say that fear of failure has definitely been one of my greatest challenges.

    But as the saying goes… “You’ve got Feel the fear and do it anyway!”

    The Importance of Belief

    In some ways, your ability to generate belief is related to the concept of immersing yourself in success.

    You’ve got to associate with people who are actually doing what it is that you want to do and are successful so that you can suspend your own disbelief.

    If they can do it, so can you!

    Your belief is paramount to your success. So here are a few tips from Entrepreneur magazine that will help you develop the belief that your success depends on.

    𝟏. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲

    Each of us has the power to choose and to direct our thoughts in any direction we want. Thinking optimistically keeps life flowing forward in the direction of our thoughts because our actions naturally follow our thoughts. For positive thinking to work we cannot passively think and expect miracles. We have to back our thinking with hard work, follow through and determination. We are all destined for success and can all get there if we believe we can. We have to put action behind our beliefs, and add a touch a patience to our perseverance. Many people become impatient when their positive thinking doesn’t immediately manifest success. That is because positive thinking, not backed by hard work, reduces positive thoughts to a wish.

    𝟐. 𝐁𝐞 𝐚 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥-𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫!

    To develop a winning attitude we must experience winning. For this reason, we need to create agendas backed by achievable goals set with target dates for their achievement. My amazing business coach Dr. Dave White tells me we overestimate what we can achieve in a year, but largely underestimate what we can achieve in five years. In our sessions we goal set, explore, plan and achieve something each week. Small achievable goals motivate and inspire us towards our larger goals. Each goal achieved builds confidence and makes the journey towards success enjoyable.

    𝟑. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 – The greatest successes love what they do, and know that what they do spans larger than their own self-interest. It is when we see that what we do makes a positive, and significant difference in the lives of others that we most want to jump out of bed in the morning.

    When we live with grace instead of entitlement we do not expect anyone to do the hard work for us. We do all we can to propel our success forward. We are not afraid of the hard work required of us to succeed. No one owes us anything. There is nothing more career-crushing than an entitled person. They are poor relationship builders, self-centered, tend to be bullies, and are some of the biggest complainers in the corporate world. We must have patience, be gracious, help others, and ask for help when we need it. We must commit to working hard, being thankful, and accepting that things are often unfair. We accept if there are goals to be achieved, we must depend upon ourselves to get them done.

    𝟓. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲

    We are a direct reflection of the company we keep. Emotions and attitudes are contagious. For this reason, we should make it a point to avoid or largely decrease, the interactions we have with people who are jealous, overtly negative, defeatist, or who gossip. We cannot get anywhere when we carry this type of emotional infection. We must fill our lives with people who are confident, supportive, happy, optimistic, realistic, hardworking, and motivated. This type of energy propels our movement forward.

    Believe in yourself.

    𝟔. 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐭.

    Success is always about persistence, determination, and the stubbornness to never give up. Setbacks and rejections are a part of any great endeavor, so we must stay driven and optimistic. Rejections and setbacks are what help us explore, grow, solve our problems, and increase our knowledge to do better going forward. When we have a winning attitude we see that failures are opportunities, not insurmountable problems. They are springboards to further success and direct us to the places where we need growth and reinvention.

    𝟕. 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

    We have to focus on developing and working on our unique strengths in order to develop a strong belief in ourselves. We have to step outside of what is familiar for the sole purpose of increasing our self-knowledge and personal development. There is not a perfect person out there, so we must remain humble and inspired to work on improving our shortcomings, while not punishing ourselves over them. We can learn ways to work with them, such as delegating out, rather than letting these aspects of ourselves bring us down. We have to have faith in who we are.

    𝟖. 𝐁𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝.

    Read. All the great successes read. It’s amazing the type of inspiration that can come from reading about other inspiring people. We must spend our time with people who inspire us, and model what they do in their lives in our own lives. Inspiration can be found in family members and loved ones. It is important to look for relationships that inspire us to be better; seek out coaches, therapists, and teachers. We can also find a deep sense of inspiration through helping and serving others.

    𝟗. 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.

    Being in excellent physical condition generates a tremendous amount of positive energy. We are physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual beings. If our physical body is not healthy it directly decreases our emotional, mental, and spiritual health. When we are physically active our bodies produce the feel-good chemicals which effectively medicate stress, anger, or despair. For this reason, we need to take care of our basic physical needs, not just because it is the source of true wealth, but because it generates us to carry a positive vibe about us.

    In the IT world, we have this saying, “Garbage in, garbage out…”

    And just like a computer, whatever you program yourself with becomes your experience; your reality.

    “Just as your conscious mind can be thought of as the gardener, planting seeds, your subconscious mind can be thought of as the garden, or fertile soil, in which the seeds germinate and grow. 

    Your conscious mind commands and your subconscious mind obeys and your subconscious mind is an unquestioning, faithful servant that works day and night to make your behavior fits a pattern consistent with your emotionalized thoughts, hopes, and desires.

    Your conscious mind can only hold one thought at a time and the absolute one and only thing that you have control over in this universe is the thoughts that you hold within your mind

    You reap what you sew. If you are constantly planting seeds of love and empowerment and success, that’s what you’ll reap.

    You’re the gatekeeper. You can let demons or angels into your royal kingdom. The choice is up to you…

    I recently finished reading the book, “The Miracle Morning”, and one of the steps outlined in this life-altering book is that you must regularly visualize your goals/dreams. For some, the idea of visualizing their way to success in business may sound like some hocus pocus, mystical/magical.   But I have not found one highly successful person who did not include visualization exercises as part of their daily routines.

    Visualizing is really quite simple. All you need is some special quiet time and a will to imagine and focus.

    So If you are interested in trying visualization, here are a few tips to get you started…

    1. Determine your goals

    Be specific – “more money” is too broad. Maybe it’s $10,000 a month from your business, or being out of debt, or spending more time with your significant other or kids.

    2. Peace and quiet

    The first step to visualizing your way to success is to get some peace and quiet.

    Sound impossible?

    Try doing it right before bed, or as soon as you wake in the morning. Maybe you can set your alarm earlier. You will need to have some time when you are not distracted or needed

    3. Imagine

    If you want to create success in your life, you must be specific and detailed here, too. Imagine exactly what it would be like to reach your goals. Imagine having that extra time with your children…

    What would you do

    Where would you go?

    Picture a specific event or activity you’d like to do with them.
    If you want to be out of debt, imagine the freedom of having expendable cash. Try to feel, see, and smell what you would do with that money. Maybe imagine opening a savings account – picture yourself walking into the bank and meeting with a representative there. When you imagine, include the details.

    4. See yourself

    As you imagine these specific scenarios, try to watch yourself as an observer would. See your personality and how you are acting. Picture yourself going to meetings, making sales, garnering clients, earning money enough to spend time with your kids – whatever you like, try watching yourself do it. Try to make it really vivid – colors, sounds, sights.

    5. Bring it home

    Try imagining these things happening at a specific time and date, not just whenever. Picture it in a particular season and time.

    6. Energize it

    As you visualize meeting your goals and succeeding in business, try breathing energy into the picture. Make it truly real.

    7. Accept the vision

    Sometimes, you can go through all of the above and still be thinking “it can’t happen for me.” That means this next step is especially important – accept the vision as doable, real, and possible. Embrace it and own it.

    Visualization is a lot about building confidence. It’s also about tapping into the brain’s tendency to heighten your awareness to opportunities that have to do with what you’re focusing on. If it’s on your mind, in other words, you may be more likely to see the opportunities that come your way.

    It can be really effective to provide value and passion in an accessible, appealing way by using origin tales and personal anecdotes from your life or business. Keep in mind that this is a more intimate and tailored approach to content marketing. Your potential customers want to buy into your offer, but they also want to buy into you as a founder or decision-maker—your experiences, stories, and vibe.

    Why did you initially decide to establish your company? Was there ever a time in your professional or personal life when everything came into place or utterly fell apart? Consider how you may provide a look into your own journey and the motivation for your efforts.

    Endorsements and Social Proof Posts

    In marketing, endorsements and publicity are equivalent to liquid gold. Happy clients or media mentions can be excellent strategies to change your offer and let your network know that you’re in demand and delivering results right now.

    Unfortunately, there isn’t one available currently for posts to Facebook personal profiles. However, if you’re a coach, consultant, or content creator employing this strategy, you may manually track the following two indicators to see if readers are responding to your postings.

    You know you’ve hit a nerve when contacts start to reply to you. Pay attention to what inspires participation, and then do more of it.
    Facebook direct messages are a terrific way to start sales conversations in a relaxed, private setting. You can also use direct messages to point customers to a new lead magnet.
    Think about posting in Facebook groups using a false name as well. Sharing relevant, high-quality information in Facebook groups can be a terrific way to draw potential business partners and even customers. Check the group rules and adhere to them. Instead of frantically grabbing for leads, try to write content that will make decent people want to add you as a friend and follow you.
