How to Eliminate Stress, Beat Entrepreneurial Anxiety, and Achieve Your Goals

The Author of “Unstoppable,” Craig Ballantyne, lists 12 practices that can help you overcome worry, refocus, and perform well.

Anxiety affects more than 40 million people in the United States. You are at best performing at 60% of your potential and are confused, overloaded, reactive, and bewildered. However, if you have the proper equipment, you’ll be OK and return to full strength as soon as is humanly feasible.

In his book, “Unstoppable”,  Ballantyne describes 12 mechanisms to overcome stress and achieve consistently high performance in his book “Unstoppable.” These 12 are listed below.

    1. Identify Areas of Misalignment.

Avoid “comparison syndrome,” the tendency to think you must do what other people do, especially if it conflicts with your principles.

Ballantyne discovered this the hard way after suffering a $250 000 loss. His company at the time specialized in health and fitness. Since many of his rivals provided customers free cookbooks in exchange for a minimal shipping and handling charge, he teamed up with a chef and employed five people to write a book. He didn’t even like cooking when he realized the endeavor wasn’t in line with his values, objectives, and ambitions for a full year. “In order to cut my losses, I fired five individuals in a single day. The worst day of my professional life, “brings up Ballantyne.

Misalignment can also result from positive reinforcement. According to him, “Your peers may join in on your binge drinking or compliment the long hours you put in at work.” But those actions take you away from more important goals, like dating or starting a family.

    2. Examine your triggers.

Compile  a list of everyone in your life and placing a checkmark next to each name if they help you feel less anxious or a “X” if they make you feel more anxious. Then, make a list of your top five objectives and values, along with the ten people you spend the most time with. Do the listings match up?

Ballantyne claims that one of his business colleague has approximately 100 banned numbers on his phone. Though it may sound harsh, the end result is that he doesn’t waste valuable time interacting with “energy vampires,” unfavorable people, and gossips.

He continues, “Block, silence, de-friend, un-follow, or any harmful influence on social media.”

    3. Plan Your Day and Work Your Plan.

Entrepreneurs, according to Ballantyne, seek autonomy, but having total control over your schedule can result in poor time management choices that increase stress.

Ballantyne advises that you go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, seven days a week. He also suggests that you never use the snooze feature on your alarm clock. When you decide to sleep, you’re telling your ambitions and dreams they can wait

“Read or listen to anything encouraging after that. Then, complete your most critical assignment before beginning to check email or social media. If you pay attention to other people’s pressing needs or “you will never accomplish your own objectives.

Plan each day in advance.  As you wind down after each day, wind down with a 10-minute brain dump and rank everything in order of importance. Always keep in mind that if you wait until the morning to create a to-do list , it is already too late!”

    4.  Engage in Daily Reflection.

One of the best methods for determining the “cause and effect” relationships between your actions and issues is self-reflection.

So review your day an hour before going to bed. If you are feeling stress ask yourself, “Why do I feel so stressed? Perhaps you drank too much coffee. Maybe the wine you drank the previous night to “relax” kept you from falling asleep and delayed your waking.

Perhaps wasting an hour of your day by checking your email or social media accounts first thing in the morning put you in a reactive state.”

    5. Take Deep Breaths.

When under stress, most people lean over and take quick, shallow breaths that mimic moderate hyperventilation. Instead, sit up straight, take four deep breaths into your abdomen, hold them for seven seconds, and then exhale slowly for eight. Within one to three minutes, this approach will help you to relax both your body and mind.

    6. Practice gratitude.

It’s simple to get into the trap of believing that your life is a failure because your friend’s firm made $10 million last year while yours “only” made one million.

You should begin by expressing gratitude for small victories throughout your day, such as completing a task like writing 500 words of content or having a challenging conversation. Recognizing all the good things and people in your life will get simpler soon.”

    7. Take time to thank others.

Every day, Ballantyne sends greeting cards to her friends, family, and coworkers. He calculates the cost of supplies, writing time, and postage to be over $1,000 annually.

“I really thank each card as I place it in the mailbox. Send one card once a week to begin. This little habit could be the therapy you’ve been needing.”

    8. Delegate.

Diligent business people, particularly those with modest backgrounds, believe they must handle every aspect of their businesses personally.

Laundry, office work, and meal preparation are all $10-an-hour jobs that you cannot get wealthy from on your own. Hire and train someone to assist you as a short-term investment.

Your parents, who did everything themselves, lived in a different time period than you do. Feel free to put the guilt behind you and concentrate on what really matters.”

    9.  Say No.

If your family is your main priority, for instance, create a rule that you won’t work or travel for business on Sundays, or pledge to have a “device-free family day” so that you can spend quality time with your loved ones without distractions.”

    10.  Watch Your Diet.

What you put in your body has physiological repercussions that immediately alter how you feel and perform. For instance, caffeine is a stimulant that raises adrenaline levels, which causes anxiety.

Alcohol might make you feel dehydrated and makes anxiousness worse.

    11.  Get Outside.

Famous people throughout history, like Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens, solved difficulties and produced masterpieces while walking.

Take it easy, put your phone away, and go for a stroll in the sunshine.

As you do this, your daily routine will change.”

    12.  Talk to Someone.

    Avoid isolation at all costs.

Talking to someone helps you feel more at ease and calms you; suffering in quiet makes anxiety worse. Everyone, in my opinion, ought to visit a therapist. Something seemingly inconsequential could have a hundred times greater impact than you realize.”

    Conclusion:

Your decisions and actions either drive you closer to or further away from your goals. If you’re not sure where to begin, keep in mind: Fear is defeated by action. Motion Prevails Over Meditation. Work Displaces Worry.”

  • 5 Reasons Why You Should be Investing in Personal Development

5 Reasons Why You Should be Investing in Personal Development

Investing in personal development is one of the most important things that you can do to insure your success. Unfortunately many fail to make those investments and as a result continually fail to achieve the success that they are looking for.

Back when I was a young Karate student, I had the opportunity to travel to Romania to assist my Sensei (teacher) during a week long boot camp that he was giving to a group of students there. We drove from Wiesbaden Germany to Romania, a trip that took about 18 hours. As we drove we obviously had tons of time to talk, and my Sensei being the wise old man that he was had tons of wisdom to pass on. Somewhere along the road in Hungary, he began telling us that he taught Karate, not for the additional income that it generated for him, but for a sheer love of the art. But he went on to tell us that he had realized that he had to charge for his classes because people in general just don’t value what they receive for free. He explained that people would either not show up to class or not give the proper respect to the training hall if they were allowed to attend class without them having made some sort of sacrifice.

Now as an internet marketing coach and also as a Karate instructor, I realize the truth of what my Sensei passed on to me all those years ago. As a marketer, I constantly run into people who think that internet marketing/multi-level marketing is get rich quick – That they won’t have to make the necessary investment of time and money into their business.  I’m here to tell you that you MUST learn to invest in yourself and your personal development if you truly want success.

5 Reasons why you must invest in your personal development

    1. You will Increase Your Value in the Market Place

Every dollar and every minute that you invest in yourself will increase your value to the market.  As you invest your time and money into training courses and coaching,  You will increase your knowledge and therefore your value to those who have not yet made those same investments.  Think of it this way, one of the reasons that doctors and lawyers command higher than average salaries is due to the fact that they have invested 100s of thousands of dollars and, in some cases, decades into their education.  The more that you learn, the more that you have to offer those that you serve in your business and the more that you can earn for your products and services

    .

    2. You will Increase Your Self Confidence

Back when I was in high school, I was ( and still am )  a bit of a nerd.  I did well academically.  Well enough that I received a scholarship to the Naval Academy.  But boy, when I got there, I found that I wasn’t as smart or educated as I had thought.  Those kids were running circles around me.  One of my best friends was, as a freshman in college, taking differential calculus while I was taking college algebra. I received my first F’s ever and was really not sure that I belonged there, however, after putting in the time and effort, I was able to bring my grades up and actually was able to get A’s in most of my classes.  The experience of having put in the hours ( sacrifice ) and having gone from F’s to A’s definitely served to help me recover my confidence.  As you increase your knowledge, your confidence will grow as well.

    3. By Investing In Personal Development You Will Begin to See New Opportunities

The more that you expand your mind and increase your skill set, the more that you will begin to realize that there are many opportunities for creating income, happiness and abundance in your mind.   Your mind is like a vessel that expands as you pour experience and knowledge into it.  The more that you learn, the more that you can learn.  By investing in personal development, you will expand your mind and as a result your capacity to see new possibilities and opportunities.

    4. You will appreciate the value of the Investment

This goes back to what my Sensei was speaking of.  If I were to give you a $3000 coaching session and only charged you $1 for it.  You would value it as being only worth $1.  And as a result, you would not put in the time and effort that is appropriate.  However, if you had to pay $3000 for the coaching sessions, that $3000 actually represents a number of hours that you have already sacrificed, and as such you would have some “skin” in the game and would give the appropriate amount of attention and time that the coaching deserved.  It has been said that many lottery winners go broke in just a few years after winning millions of dollars.  This is partly due to the fact that they got something for nothing.  They don’t value the money because they didn’t work for it – didn’t sacrifice for it. By investing in personal development you will give that investment the care and respect that it deserves because it actually represents a portion of your life that you have sacrificed for it.

    5. By Investing In Personal Development You Will be Able to Get others to invest in you.

By investing in personal development and in your business, you will position yourself as a leader and others will be attracted to you and will invest their time and money to help you succeed in your business. There are tons of people out there waiting for you to show them the way, but you must have developed yourself to the point that you are 2-3 steps ahead of your prospective customers, clients and team members, before they will be willing to invest in you.  By investing in your personal development, you become a lighthouse that people far and wide will flock to for guidance.

I personally invest in courses and coaching regularly and have had met people who currently earn millions each year, but still spend tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in their own personal development.  If you want to “be like Mike”  you’ve got to act like Mike. These people continually invest in themselves because they realize that it is the best investment that they will ever make.  They consistently invest both their time and money in courses, classes, mentorships and coaching – Shouldn’t you be doing the same?

  • Applying the Law of Attraction To Your MLM Home Based Business

Applying the Law of Attraction to your MLM Home based business may sound mystical, magical or even spooky, but it is critical to your success. ?Many think that the law of Attraction is derived from Buddhism. ?Others think that it is related to KarmaApplying the Law of Attraction To Your MLM Home Based Business.?But the law of attraction is simply a way of thinking and living your life and in this case, a way to help you achieve your goals for your MLM Home Business.

The Law of Attraction says that what you visualize and feel with your emotions consistently will become your reality.By believing that you present in your feelings and thoughts, you attract the things that you desire by thinking about them and having emotionalizing them. ?When you are able to tap in to the law of attraction, you visualize yourself in the place that you want to be.

According to the law, you will attract?all that is?the necessary your strongly emotionalized desires?to manifest?themselves in your reality.?You will attract the things that you give your focus and energy.

So How can you apply the Law of Attraction in your MLM?business. ?Here are a few ideas.

    ?[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAp4Lu3atek[/embedyt]

Step 1. Decide what you want From Your MLM?Home Based?Business.

Deciding what you want is the first sttep that you you must take in applying the Law of Attraction. ?The thought is that you must be able to clearly communicate to the God/The Universe, what it is that you want.. You must be able to clearly visualize your desires and if you don’t know what they are you cannot express them in your mind. ?So start by being as clear as possible about what you want from your business.

Step 2. ?Visualize Success in Your MLM Home Based Business

Visualization is what creates your personal “vibration” as Napoleon Hill put it. ?The Law of Attraction responds to this vibration. ?So you should, on a daily basis, sit quietly and envision yourself as successful in your business. ?Be as specific and as detailed as you can possibly be. ?See yourself as you would like to be, in the clothing that in your mind represents success. ?See yourself taking phone calls, finding new clients, closing deals, selling product. ?Spend time every day with these thoughts in your mind. ?Imagine that you have already succeeded. ?Experience what it feels like to have achieved your business goals.

Applying The Law of Attraction in Your MLM Business

    Step 3. Believe It’s Yours

You then have to take a leap of Faith and believe that it is already yours. ?That all that you want has already been rewarded you and that you are attracting them towards you daily. Like any belief you must overcome any doubt that you have and “Act as If”. ?If you want to sell more of your product or service, believe that it can happen and as you visualize more and more, move into trust. ?Accept that these achievements and business goals are yours already.

You must believe that you are worthy and deserving of the goals that you have set so you must cultivate a healthy sense of self and self worth.

    4. Be Careful of Negative Thoughts

The law of attraction means you attract those things you focus on – so if you attract negative things, it is due to a negative vibration you sent out. The law of attraction applies to bad things as well, in other words. It is said that you should make sure to keep it positive so that you do not attract business failure or frustration.

Apply these principles daily. ?Create business rituals that re-inforce the thought habits that you are building. ?And enjoy the journey to your success!

  • The Law Of Value

    The Law Of Value

You ever wonder why a doctor makes more than a pizza delivery person… Why a Professional Athlete makes more than a doctor. Why the Team owner makes more than the individual athletes…

THe answer to these questions can be found in the Law of Value. Basically, the marketplace puts a value on a service, or person based on 3 key indicators..
    1. How many people can perform the service
    2. How specialized the service/skill set is.
    2. How many people can the individual serve at one time.

So let’s think about that in the context of the Pizza Delivery person… How many people can actually deliver pizzas without specialized training and years of practice… Well the answers is pretty much everyone.. As a freshman in college, I delivered Pizza… Zoom Zoom… I had no specialized skill except that I had a drivers license..

Now compare that skill set to the skill set of a Doctor/Professional Athlete. Though the two areas of excellence are different, both the physician and the professional athlete have spent years training and honing their particular skill-set. Now it could be argued that because of the nature of the physicians training and the delicacy and importance of his/her work that Physicians should get paid more than Athletes, but they don’t…

The reason for this is that Athletes actually serve more people at time than any individual doctor could. Think about it. The Highly skilled brain surgeon can only operate on one person at a time while the Athlete entertains millions upon millions within the time period that he performs. Even in the Tech Industry, techies like myself actually earn as much as and more than some physicians because our skill-set allows us to individually serve more people than physicians can.

So because of this and this alone ( the ability to serve numerous people at one time ) , the Professional Athlete will make millions per hour in some cases… I remember when I first learned how much professional boxer earn for each match ( millions of dollars – win, lose or draw ). But this again is due to the fact that during that 10 minute to 1 hour sparring session. Millions upon millions are being served.

So this is the law of value…

So how can you use the Law of Value to your advantage….

    Stay tuned… 🙂

    Bloom Where You Are Planted

    [et_pb_section][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text]
Where ever you are.  Regardless of your current situation, the first thing that you should do is to realize that you currently have everything that you need to begin the move from where you are to where you want to be.  Now, this may sound like some kind of mumbo jumbo “THE SECRET” kinda stuff.  But the truth of it is that God/The Universe has provided you with everything that you need to create the life that you want for yourself. And the first thing that you need to do is to acknowledge that simple fact, give thanks for what you currently have, and then….   then ask yourself what can you do right now to begin your journey from where you are today, to where you want to be tomorrow
I recently acquired a property that once belonged to my uncle.  The plan is to change it into a Dojo where I can offer free Karate training to “at-risk” youth.  One day, I decided to take a look around the property, which had been overgrown by weeds and trees and as I walked around, I noticed that a tree had grown up between the cracks of the concrete foundation.  Now at some point in time a few years ago, a seed fell onto the concrete slab and in spite of it not having either soil or an adequate source of water, it managed to spread roots and find the nourishment that it required to grow.  It didn’t matter that the other more mature trees that were blocking sunlight, nor did it matter that it’s “mother” tree dropped it off in an inhospitable place.  It also didn’t matter to that seedling, that it had neither access to water or soil…   It had the potentiality of becoming a tree and that is all that mattered… It “needed” to express its full potential and nothing was going to stop it.
That is how we must be.  We must take whatever life has thrown at us… roll with the punches. when we fall we must get up,  take inventory of ourselves, determine what it is that we want to be, do, and have and keep moving forward.
I’m not saying that this is easy… You have everything that you need to build the life of your dreams.  But first, you must decide what you want,  set your roots based on the resources that you already have available to you and Bloom where you are planted.
    Peace and Blessings,
